Kamui
A film by Yoichi Sai
Southwest Premiere
“When you laugh my blood boils!”
Cast out from society as young boy, Kamui became a fugitive ninja, hunted by…well, all the other ninjas. He led a life of mistrust and loneliness. Then one day he came across the roguish fisherman Hanbei, and was given the chance to live a peaceful existence…but Kamui could not know true peace, as his past returned to haunt him at every turn…
That said, there are only three things you need to know about KAMUI, the film: ninjas, pirates and sharks. That pretty much sums up the highlights, as we see live action versions of ninja battles heretofore only seen in anime, as well as some outlandish CGI effects that surround the quieter scenes of idyllic village life.
KAMUI is for fans of swords and grievous personal hells. Good times will be had by all.
